This heritage forms the basis of various research projects, educational activities, training, sustainable tourism, and ecosystem services. Using the geoheritage inventory, the Geopark collaborates with area stakeholders to protect these sites and ensure that they can be accessed and used.<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" style=\"color:#eb5954\">Actions<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<ul>\n<li>Creation of an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geoparc-chablais.com\/en\/the-geosites-inventory\/\">inventory of the Chablais&#8217; Directive 2009\/147\/EC): many sites<\/li>\n<li>The Prefectoral Decree on Biotope Protection (APPB): many sites<\/li>\n<li>The national network of &#8220;<a style=\"font-size: inherit;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cc-peva.fr\/632-le-pays-d-art-et-d-histoire.htm\">French Towns and Lands of Art and History<\/a><span style=\"font-size: inherit;\">&#8220;: Vall\u00e9e d&#8217;Abondance and Pays d&#8217;Evian (since 2003)<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Nature Reserve of France: Dranse Delta (since 1980)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\"><div class=\"block block-core-freeform\">\n<ul>\n<li>Council of Europe Biogenetic Reserve: Dranse Delta<\/li>\n<li>Listed sites: Dent d&#8217;Oche and Cornettes de Bise, 3,630 ha (since 2013); the Domaine de Ripaille, 198 ha (since 1950); Gorges du Pont du Diable (since 1908)<\/li>\n<li>The Mountain Act of 9 January 1985 applies to most of the Chablais&#8217; mountainous areas<\/li>\n<li>The Coastal Act of 3 January 1986 covers the shores of Lake Geneva<\/li>\n<li>Natural Areas of Ecological, Faunistic, and Floristic Interest (ZNEIFF), 8 January 1993, article 23: a large part of the Chablais falls under Type II ZNIEFF status and many specific sites have Type I ZNIEFF status<\/li>\n<li>20 geosites and 17 sites with the Sensitive Natural Site (ENS) label<\/li>\n<li>Wildlife hunting reserves: one of the largest reserves in Haute-Savoie is in the Chablais<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-heading\">\n<h2 class=\"has-text-color wp-block-heading\" id=\"ENS\" style=\"color:#eb5954\">The Sensitive Natural Site designation<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-quote\">\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>The natural heritage in the Haute-Savoie Department is remarkably varied, contributing to biodiversity (which is exceptional in Haute-Savoie), the exceptional living environment, and the beauty of recreational areas. <\/em><\/p><p><em>The department is well aware of the importance of this heritage and took early action to protect the natural environments and showcase these areas. The department has also created a network of <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hautesavoie.fr\/le-conseil-d%C3%A9partemental\/le-d%C3%A9partement\/environnement-et-d%C3%A9veloppement-durable\">Sensitive Natural Sites<\/a><em> within its borders.<\/em><\/p><cite>The Haute-Savoie Department<\/cite><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>The ENS label is managed in close collaboration with all local stakeholders (local authorities, community organisations, etc.), following three main priorities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Preserve the natural environment and landscapes<\/li>\n<li>Promote the natural environment and landscapes and welcome visitors<\/li>\n<li>Enrich and share knowledge about the area\u2019s biodiversity and landscapes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<div class=\"block block-core-embed\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-dailymotion wp-block-embed-dailymotion\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Le nouveau sch\u00e9ma des Espaces Naturels Sensibles de Haute-Savoie 2016 -
