During the vacations, the Museum of Prehistory and Geology offers you a lot of activities to do with your family (fire and hunting workshops, archaeological excavation, prehistoric art, hunting, guided tour, fossil making...)

Making a Fossil - History of Life
Make fossils you can take home, then learn about the history of life on Earth.

Prehistoric art
Reproduce the works of prehistoric people on facsimiles of cave walls, and make a piece of jewelry to take home.

Archaeological dig
Learn the basics of the archeology profession on a mock excavation site and discover how to know what era an archaeological layer dates from.

Invent your writing
Discover the origins of writing, then invent your own alphabet and finally, engrave your first name or a message on a clay medallion.

“Prehisto-FooD” game tour
What did our ancestors eat? Discover human diets throughout the ages, then prepare your menu as a character from one of these eras.

- For the whole family, children from 7/8 years old.

Fire
Learn how to light a fire without a lighter or match, the way our prehistoric ancestors did. An exercise in family perseverance!

Flint size
Demonstration, handling of reconstructions of archaeological tools.
Each participant will be able to test the waist gestures.

Hunting with propellant shooting
The animal is an essential resource in prehistory! Learn the many uses of different body parts, discover the evolution of hunting techniques, then try speargun shooting.

Natural Hazards: the Wheel of Misfortune
Is it better to live near Lake Geneva or in the mountains? How to prevent risks? Choose to live among 6 towns in Chablais where natural risks vary depending on the landscape, then let the Wheel of Misfortune decide your destiny.

Visits:
Free visit: €5/adult and €4/child
Guided tour: €6/adult and €5/child
Guided tours are only possible at times defined on the current program or by group reservation.

Paid visit from 5 years old.

Free visit + 1 workshop: €8/person.
Free visit + 2 workshops: €10/person.
Free visit + 3 workshops: €12/person.
Day pass (self-guided visit + 5 workshops): €15/person.
